Chemical deliveries are a challenging bulk delivery solution. Many chemicals, such as bleach/sodium hypochlorite, are too caustic to deliver with meters from a truck. They also require special tank monitoring solutions such as ceramic sensors due to the caustic interaction with electronics and other metal.
In addition the caustic nature of chemicals, their delivery scenarios are often different than other bulk products. Bleach is used in everything from swimming pools, public water supplies and paper mills; however, each of these has different utilization needs.
Public water supplies use full truck loads of bleach. Paper mills and other plants may not receive a full truck load, but have a consistent utilization.
Pool supply companies bleach usage is dependent on seasonality and weather. High heat evaporates pool water so the usage increases. A customer may have 3 tanks @ 1900 gal/ea, and you deliver to 2 of those all through the winter. As spring comes, you arrive and the customer asks to fill the 3rd tank.
Our bulk delivery solution supports scale integration with Fairbanks (e.g. FB3000) or Mettler Toledo so you can calculate heavy weight volume to determine how much product is in your truck. With bleach, for example, 10% is lighter than 12%. We integrate with the scale to determine the weight of the product and convert to gallons based on the density of the product (minus the weight of the tractor and trailer).
