Transient assets
When wethosing or fleet fueling, you may have a customer(s) with a large number of transient assets. These are assets that you only see 1 time and may never fill again. Scenarios include:
- Locomotives – where the same train may not return for months
- Trailers – temporary trailer sites where you refill refrigerated (refers) and they may never return
- Car dealers – where you fill cars on a lot until they sell
To enable transient assets, set the tag: ALLOW_TRANSIENT_ASSETS = TRUE
When the driver adds a new asset, TRANSIENT will be an option (along with vehicle, trailer, tank, equipment). They will select the TRANSIENT asset and save.
To fill transient assets, scan the transient barcode or select it from the list of filled assets (respond yes when prompted if you want to fill again.
Each time you scan the barcode, save the delivery/next asset, the driver will be prompted to enter the unit#.
NOTE: you should ensure you use a mobile and POD receipt that shows the unit#s vs the assetID.
